A small screen comedian was attacked on Sunday by a group of persons belonging to Goud community alleging that he was insulted their community in Jabardasth comedy show.The incident took place at Filmnagar temple and Goud community members called up Venu and attacked at him physically and manhandled. Now total small screen industry gathered to condemn the attack. Protesting against the attack on comedian Venu, the film and TV fraternity on Monday took out a rally.
Artist Venu attacked for anti-Gowda Jabardasth Comedy Show:
“Comedian Venu was assaulted by members of a community, who accused him of offending their community and hurting their sentiments through his acts in a comedy show on a Telugu channel,” ACP D Uday Kumar Reddy told PTI.
A case for voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful restraint and criminal intimidation under relevant sections of IPC has been registered on the complaint of the actor.
The ACP said that some members of the community also lodged a complaint against Venu for “offending” their caste, following which a case was registered against him and organisers of the comedy show on television.

Jabardasth Judge Nagendra Babu Serious Response on Venu Attack
The actors of the Jabardasth show along with judge Nagababu approached Movie Artists’ Association to file a complaint. Speaking on the occasion Nagababu clarified that they have never intended to hurt anyone’s feelings but were only trying to bring smiles on everyone’s lips.
Nagababu said, “We are just artists and we won’t try to degrade any caste or any person. If anyone having problems with the program, they should file a complaint against us. This is not the way to handle the things. Attacking them physically isn’t right.”
