197 Kilograms Of Dry Marijuana Seized From An Ambulance In Assam

North Tripura, Assam: The Tripura police seized over 197 kilograms of dried marijuana from an ambulance. The buy-bust operation was done on the border of Assam and Tripura.

Krishnadhan Sarkar, the police officer in charge of the Kadamtala Police Station, said that they received and Intel about an ambulance carrying and transporting marijuana.

Officer Sarkar said they set up checkpoints with the hopes of catching the ambulance.

On Sunday, the police stopped a vehicle and upon inspection, they saw huge packs of dry marijuana hidden under the medical facilities of the said “ambulance”.

Officer Sarkar said they seized over 197 kilograms of contraband items during the operation.

Officer Sarkar added that the driver and the other people in the ambulance managed to run away from the scene.

The buy-bust operation was carried out by the Border Security Force Military Personnel and the local police.

The police have registered a case and are currently trying to find the driver and the other personnel that were inside the said ambulance.

The police are also trying to find out where the ambulance was headed and who was going to receive the dry marijuana.
