2 Men Arrested For Smuggling Over 947 Kilograms Of Marijuana Worth Rs. 90 Lakh In Odisha

Ganjam, Odisha: The police have arrested 2 men and seized over 974 kilograms of marijuana worth Rs. 90 lakh.

The 947 kilograms of marijuana was being transported through a truck via National Highway-16.

The police received an Intel about a large shipment of Marijuana on NH-16.

The police then set up a checkpoint and conducted a number of patrolling operations near NH-16, this led them to seize a truck that was carrying over 974 kilograms of Marijuana.

According to the driver of the truck, the marijuana was being moved to Bhubaneswar and was coming from Lankagada.

The driver of the truck and another person was arrested by the police under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The 2 are facing charges for transporting a huge amount of Marijuana.

The police seized over 37 bags of marijuana that were hidden under corn and ragi.

The Odisha police said this is one of the biggest marijuana drug buy-bust operations they did this year.
