In what is being considered as one of the most horrible rape and murder cases of Gujarat, India, a man that was out on bail was arrested again by the police for raping and murdering his 6-year-old niece.

Shailesh Mavi, the accused, committed the crime when he was out on bail after being involved in a murder case.

According to reports, the incident happened in Garbada Taluka, which is located in Dahod, Gujarat.

Mavi, the accused, strangled the minor to death so she wouldn’t tell anyone about the ordeal.

The 6-year-old girl, whose identity was not shared with the public, was with her maternal grandmother and relatives at the time of the incident as her parents were out for labor work in Rajkot.

On Friday evening, a cousin of the girl came to their house and asked the girl to come with him.

The brother of the girl wanted to accompany them, but the uncle told him to stay in the house and forced the girl to sit on the motorcycle.

The grandmother of the girl told the man that he couldn’t bring the girl with him, but he insisted and took her with him.

Kalpesh Chavda, the Deputy Superintendent of Police Garbada, said the girl didn’t return back so the family launched a search party.

Upon investigating, the family found the uncle alone in the village.

The family asked the uncle where the girl was, and he said that he dropped her off the crossroads in the village.

To avoid any suspicions, the uncle joined the search party.

After failing to locate the girl, the grandmother approached the police, who suspected the uncle as the man behind the crime.

The police arrested the uncle and registered a kidnapping case against him.

Upon interrogation, the man admitted that he raped and killed the girl on a farm.

Mavi also brought the police to the spot where he buried the girl.

DSP Chavda said, “It came to light that the girl was raped before being killed. We added provisions pertaining to rape and murder in the kidnapping offense. We have already taken the accused in our custody.”
