Man Shot Dead By Police after he Takes 23 Children As Hostage In UP, Wife Beaten To Death By Villagers
In a stunning occurrence, a man took 23 kids between the ages of a half year and 15 years of age as prisoners for about 10 hours before he was shot dead by the Uttar Pradesh Police.

After Batham was shot dead, furious villagers turned on his wife, who was attempting to flee. They assaulted her with stones and blocks before police safeguarded and took her to a safe spot. She was admitted to an emergency clinic nearby but doctors failed to treat her of the injuries. She died of wounds on Friday morning.
“She had head wounds and was draining when she was taken to the medical clinic. She had attempted to run,” said senior cop Mohit Agarwal. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has reported an honor of Rs 10 lakh for the UP Police group that effectively completed the encounter. “All workforce who partook in this activity will be given a certificate of recognition,” said UP Additional Chief Secretary Awanish K Awasthi.
