Micromax, the Indian smartphone manufacturing firm has now listed a new smartphone on its company’s official website. The new smartphone which is spotted online is Canvas Fire 4G+, an updated variant of its predecessor Canvas Fire 4G. A couple of months back, Micromax has launched Canvas Fire 4G smartphone parallel to other smartphones under the Canvas series such as Canvas Blaze 4G and Canvas Play 4G. The company has just revealed the key specifications of the handset but fails to disclose as to when the device will hit the Indian market stores. However, there is no word on the pricing of this new Canvas Fire 4G+.
The new Canvas Fire 4G+ is an updated variant of its predecessor Canvas Fire 4G, but there are slight variations in the specifications of the smartphone. The new Micromax Canvas Fire 4G+ smartphone sports a slightly larger and higher-resolution 4.7-inch HD IPS display with a pixel resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels as compared to the 4.5-inch display on its predecessor, Canvas Fire 4G. The ‘Plus’ variant of the Canvas Fire 4G is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1GHz which is paired with 1GB of RAM similar to its predecessor. The company has not specified the name of the processor. However, the handset is anticipated to run on a MediaTek-branded processor as the company in September announced a strategic partnership with chipmaker for the launch of Canvas Fire 4G.
The Indian smartphone makers have not mentioned the onboard storage limit of the new handset while the website hints that the device can be expandable up to 32GB via a microSD slot. On the Camera front, the smartphone comes equipped with an 8-megapixel for the autofocus rear camera which is bumped from 5-megapixel. On the other side, the smartphone has a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper which is also bumped from 2-megapixel. The device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.
In terms of connectivity, the handset supports both LTE bands in India such as FDD-LTE 1800MHz Band 3, and TDD-LTE 2300MHz Band 40 similar to the Canvas Fire 4G. With the support for 4G connectivity, you can download anything at a high speed of up to 150Mbps. The smartphone can access the internet over 2G, 3G, LTE (Cat 4 Speeds), Wi-Fi and a microUSB cable. You can transfer data at a high speed via Bluetooth. The new Canvas Fire 4G+ is power-packed by a 2000mAh battery that can deliver a talk time of up to 7 hours.
According to the listings of the smartphone on the company’s official website, the smartphone sports dual front-facing speakers located above and below of the device similar to its predecessors, Canvas Fire 3 and the Canvas Fire 4G. The company touts that the speakers are rated to deliver crystal-clear audio and improved bass response. Last month, the company has launched an affordable smartphone in India namely Micromax Canvas Pace 4G which is available for purchase via E-commerce portal, eBay India.
