Pharmacist Steals Masks And Medicines During Coronavirus Scare In India

A pharmacist from a hospital in Pune, Maharashtra, was arrested by the police for stealing medicines and masks worth over Rs. 35,000.

The pharmacist, whose identity was not shared with the public, stole goods worth Rs. 35,750 from the hospital pharmacy where he was working.

The police arrested him under relevant sections of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) for theft.

No confirmed cases of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) were reported in Maharashtra, but people in India are doing their best to stay away from the killer disease.

To prevent catching the disease, people are hoarding masks.

The Food and Drug department had earlier appealed pharmacists in India to not hoard them.

Health experts in India are asking people to wear protective masks only if they are being recommended by the doctors.

As of now, doctors and health experts are insisting on maintaining personal hygiene to keep the infection away.
