Caught On Cam: Shark Knocks 7-Year-Old Florida Boy Off His Surfboard

7-year-old Chandler Moore and his family were on the New Smyrna Beach in Orlando, Florida for some post-Thanksgiving fun when he was knocked by a shark off his surfboard during his surfing moment with his dad.

Shaun Moore, the father of Chandler, said the day was perfect for surfing.

Shaun, who is 40-years-old, said, “It was almost 80 degrees, sunny and the waves were good.”

He added, “The beach was crowded and there were a ton of surfers out.”

Shaun and Chandler got their boards and went into the water to surf.

Chandler saw a wave to ride, and Shaun said he gave Chandler a push on the board so he can surf well.

As Chandler stood and steadied himself on the board, something knocked him down.

Chandler said, “I was just surfing and then I saw two fish.”

He added, “I thought the thing that hit me was a fish.”

The father and son replayed the video that was caught by the GoPro camera that was attached to the surfboard of Chandler, and the thing that they saw was a shark.

Chandler said, “When we looked back I saw it was actually a shark.”

The 7-year-old boy added, “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh.’”

A screenshot of the video shows a small Blacktip Shark knocking down Chandler as he was trying to become steady on his board.

According to experts, Blacktip Sharks are pretty common in New Smyrna Beach.

Experts also call the beach as the “shark attack capitol of the world.”

Chandler was not injured or bitten when he was knocked by the small shark.

He also showed the video to his second-grade classmates.

Chandler talked about the expressions of his classmates when they saw the video.

He said, “They were all talking to me like, ‘Oh, my gosh, is that’s a real shark?’”

He added, “They had a million questions.”

One thing or another, Chandler is one tough kid.
