IPhone Users Can Now Update WhatsApp For New Features, Search Option In Status Tab And More

There are a couple of new features to the WhatsApp with an update for iOS users. The messaging platform for iOS has introduced a notification extension feature and a search option for the Status tab. With the update, iPhone users can easily access the new feature that allows them to view images or GIFs from the notification panel itself without opening the app. Along with that, the users can now search status wise. Apart from that, among other changes, WhatsApp new version is compatible only iOS 8.0 or later versions. If you want to use this feature, you need to download the latest version v2.18.90 of WhatsApp for iPhone by going to the App Store.

With the updated WhatsApp, you have new Status search feature with which users can easily search specific contacts and their status updates directly in the Status tab. The new quick access feature allows you to find specific status updates in case if your status timeline has got a lot of contacts who keep posting updates. The latest WhatsApp update comes with a notification extension feature that allows users to be able to view images and GIFs right from the notification panel. Whenever you happen to receive images or GIFs, all you need to do is just tap 3D Touch or simply swipe left on the notification and tap “View” to preview the media from within the notification. But this feature is as of now available only with iPhone models of iOS or higher.

As informed already, the latest update of WhatsApp for iPhone users is available only with the version number of 2.18.90 and this version is compatible with iOS 8 or higher. This indicates that older iPhone will have to go on with the last update without any change.

In the latest update, according to WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp has added a feature to alert for any Suspicious Link. It is not any different from the feature that was rolled out for Android beta users in July this year. This feature alerts us for any ‘Suspicious Link’ whenever anyone sends one to you. This update appears to be made known the reality of any such link to unknowing users.

The official changelog has not been updated with the feature update of new Suspicious Link. Along with that all, WhatsApp had provided an FAQ regarding the Suspicious Link feature.
