Yes, latest twist by Modi government will take your irritation quotient to next level. Started with 4000 exchange limit and then reducing it to 2000 due to the shortage of currency, Modi has given many twists in demonetization move.

No Currency Exchange From Today:
Demonetization move had led to never-ending queues outside ATMs and Banks. You will be shocked to hear the latest announcement made by the Government. From 25th November i.e. today, you won’t be able to exchange your old currency notes. Yes, over the counter exchange of your old notes is STOPPED!
You can only deposit the old notes in Bank. There is no over the counter EXCHANGE available after 24th midnight.
Keeping in mind the number of tourists in the country at any given time, the government has decided to permit foreign citizens to exchange old Indian currency for foreign currency up to Rs 5,000 a week.
What The Government Says:
“It has been observed that over the counter exchange of the old currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denomination has shown a declining trend,” read a government statement announcing the move.
“It has further been felt that people may be encouraged and facilitated to deposit their old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes in their bank accounts. This will encourage people who are still unbanked to open new bank accounts. Consequently, there will be no over the counter exchange of old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes after midnight of 24.11.2016,” the statement added.

Here is a list of payments that can be made using only Rs 500 notes until December 15.
- School fees up to Rs. 2000 per student in central government, state government, municipality, and local body schools
- Fees of Central or State Government colleges
- Pre-paid mobile top-up of up to Rs 500 per top-up
- Purchases at consumer cooperative stores up to Rs 5,000 at a time
- Water and electricity bill payment can be paid by individuals and households (not organizations). Both current bills and arrears can be paid.
- Toll payments can be made from December 3 to December 15 (Road transport ministry has exempted toll payment till December 2)
