Ugly Scene In Ranji Match: Gambhir And Manoj Tiwary Came To Exchange Blows

This was one of the embarrassing moments in the Ranji match between Delhi and Bengal. Both the team Captains have been involved in an ugly scene at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi. Gautham Gambhir and Manoj Tiwary had nearly come to exchange blows on Saturday. The situation has extended so far which resulted in field Umpire to come in between them.

K Srinath was the umpire and he had come between the Gambhir and Tiwary to stop both the players fighting. Gambhir and Tiwary came opposite to each other to exchange blows. During this incident, Gambhir had even pushed the umpire Srinath who was trying to get him out of the way to hit Tiwary.

Gambhir vs Manoj tiwary

This has been an unprecedented ugly gesture between both the players. Touching the umpire is a grave offence in cricket, which could lead to the ban. The incident happened in 8th over when Partha Sarathi Bhattacharjee got out of Manan Sharma’s bowling and Tiwary came in to bat at No. 4 wearing a cap.

Tiwary first took guard and was about to take strike. But he stopped the bowler and signaled at the dressing room to bring his helmet as a pacer was operating from the other end. Delhi players felt that it was a deliberate time wasting tactic. Manan ticked off Manoj and he told him to lay off. All of a sudden, Gambhir, at first slip, got into the action and started abusing the Bengal skipper.

Gambhir said: “Shaam ko mil tujhe maroonga” (Meet me in the evening, I will hit you). And Tiwary retorted, saying: “Shaam kya abhi bahar chal” (Why to wait till evening, let’s go out and settle it now). Manoj was then seen shouting at Gambhir, saying: “Did I tell you anything? Why did you have to come in between.” This may lead to summon both the players by the match.
