Middle-Aged Couple Received 25,000 Ecstasy Pills After Ordering Dresses From An Online Retailer
A middle-aged couple from Linz, Austria, was shocked after they received 25,000 ecstasy pills after ordering dresses from an online retailer from the Netherlands.
The couple opened the delivery package to see the dresses they ordered, but instead, they found a package that had nearly 25,000 ecstasy pills.
The married couple ordered 2 dresses from a clothing retailer from the Netherlands.
The couple was having their breakfast inside their house in Linz, Austria, when the package came in.
Shocked by the fact that one of the boxes was really heavy, upon opening it, they found bags filled with pills, which turned out to be ecstasy pills.
According to the statement that was released by the Austrian police, “The originally planned cozy breakfast was quickly over and to the horror of the couple, it turned out that, though one of the packages did contain the two dresses, the second however had 24,800 Ecstasy tablets worth about €500,000.”
The 58-year-old woman, who opened the box, initially though the ecstasy pills were decorative stones.
But when her 59-year-old husband took a look at them closely, they turned out to be illegal stimulants.
The couple returned the package back to the local post office and the narcotics department of the Linz town was informed about the drugs.
Investigations revealed that the final destination of the package was supposed to be in Scotland.
The Austrian police believe the street value of the 25,000 ecstasy pills is about 450,000 pounds.
The Scotland Police and the NCA (National Crime Agency) have launched an investigation about the incident.
