Sachin Tendulkar is regarded as the God of cricket and is worshipped by every Indian. His contribution to the Indian team is irreplaceable and when he announced he retirement, every Indian cricket fan was in tears. He was announced as a member of Rajya Sabha in the year in 2012. Ever since he was elected he was constantly criticised for his absence during the Rajya Sabha meetings.
He has just attended 7.3% of sessions out of the total sessions in Rajya Sabha. He just attended 29 sessions out of 430 sessions and just asked 22 questions and introduced 0 bills in Rajya Sabha.
Now that his term as a Rajya Sabha member has come to an end, he took a surprising decision which is now widely appreciated by the people of the country. Sachin was always criticised for enjoying the perks and salary of Rajya Sabha member because of his absence during the meetings. Sachin now decided to donate all of his 6year salaries to PM Relief Fund. Sachin nearly drew Rs. 90 Lakhs as salary during his 6year term.
Pm’s office acknowledged his gesture and appreciated him for the same and also conveyed their gratitude saying
“Prime Minister acknowledges this thoughtful gesture and conveys his gratitude. These contributions will be of immense help in providing assistance to the persons in distress.”
Well, Sachin surely earned a lot of fans with this gesture and shut down the mouths of the people who were reprimanding him the entire time.
Tendulkar has also adopted two villages, Puttam Raju Kandriga in Andhra Pradesh and Donja in Maharashtra under the Sansad Gram Adarsh Gram Yojana Scheme.
As per the data released from his office, he sanctioned 185 projects worth 7.4crores across the nation and utilized MP Local Development Fund efficiently. Apart from the same, he also used Rs. 30 crores for educational and structural development which also includes building and renovation of classrooms.
