Trent Boult Invented A New Defensive Shot, Commentators Named It As “Flamingo Defensive Shot”

People who are watching cricket since years would be surprised hearing the term Flamingo Back Defense (FBD). There was no such term or word used in cricket before the test match between Australia and New Zealand in Gabba. NZ bowler Trent Boult invented a new shot in cricket. This shot looked very different and it seemed like a new way of the defensive shot. Boult first played this shot against Starc and second against Hazelwood.

Boult moved outside his off stump to play a length ball. Boult lifted his left leg while playing this shot. The way Boult standing with leg up in the air was something hilarious. Steven Smith was unable to stop laugh. Australian commentator Mark Nicholas termed this shot as Flamingo Back Defense shot.
