Vinod Kambli Finally Buried The Hatchet With Sachin Tendulkar, Reconciles After 7 Years

We all know the friendship story of Former Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli. The duo is friends since their childhood. However, as the time progressed, both the buddies saw a few misunderstandings creep up to expose their bonhomie.

Seven years ago, Vinod Kambli blew the lid off his friendship with Sachin Tendulkar that the latter didn’t lend a helping hand during his downward spiral in a TV show. And now, after all, happened between them, both Tendulkar and Kambli seem to have buried the hatchet and become friends again.

It all went down south after Kambli in a TV interview in 2009 said that Tendulkar could have done more to keep Kambli’s place in the Indian side. Hurt by Kambli’s comments, Tendulkar didn’t even invite his former schoolmate to his farewell 200th Test in Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium in 2013 and didn’t even mention his name in his emotional farewell speech.

A recent post from Vinod Kambli has clearly indicated that the two former national cricketers managed to catch up with one another at a get-together. It seems like the two have decided to let bygones be bygones. Confirming to TOI on Monday that the two have indeed sorted out their differences.

Kambli told, “Yes, everything is fine between us and I’m happy with it. We hugged each other. We want to tell people that we’re back.” The duo’s friendship has taken for the worse in recent times. It was said that for the last seven years they haven’t met each other. They have only, exchanged some text messages during recent times.

Much to the delight of their fans, the same old camaraderie is said to be back as Kambli’s social media update reads ‘Master Blaster I Love You’. The two former cricketers were invited to the book launch of Rajdeep Sardesai. Soon after the event, Atul Kasbekar posted a picture on the social media that had both Kambli and Sachin in the same frame.

Vinod re-tweeted the tweet and with a caption, “Dear Atul it was great meeting you, Shishir and @sardesairajdeep too.@sachin_rt .Master Blaster I love You.”

The renewed chemistry between them was apparent at a function on Monday to mark the Mumbai launch of veteran journalist Rajdeep Sardesai’s book “Democracy’s XI: The Great Indian Cricket Story”.

Going back in the timeline, Kambli and Sachin started playing together in Mumbai from a very young age. They played at the age group levels. Both came into the limelight for their world- record partnership of 664 runs. Tendulkar scripted his way into the Indian team at the age of just 16 in 1989 against Pakistan with Kambli following in his footsteps two years later.
