One of the best Indian fast bowlers Zaheer Khan recently retired from the International cricket was seen in the decider match between India and South Africa on Sunday. After South African batsmen smashed the Indian bowlers and won the match with a huge margin, Zaheer Khan was given the mic to give his last speech. Zaheer said he has achieved everything he wanted in his 14-year cricket career, there was “no missing link” for him to regret.

“I’m going to miss cricket matches and those celebrations with the team-mates. But I have to move on, with all those so many happy memories in my career. I am very happy to retire. I had not thought that I would go this far and achieve so much in my career. I don’t think I have one link missing in my career,” he said.

“I am honored to stand in front of you and the one word that comes to my mind is that I am humbled and honored. It has been a great journey made up of wonderful memories. It is an emotional moment for me to speak here. I have been overwhelmed by the love and affection shown to me in the last 10 days after retirement” Zaheer said.
“Happy that my final speech is happening at Wankhede again.” Zaheer played 92 Tests and 200 ODIs for the country since 14 years. He consoled India skipper MS Dhoni, who was on the losing side and the jubilant South African team. He said, “I know it was a tough day for you MS. To AB and team, you were always tough opponents and always brought the best out of me on the field.”

I will continue my association with the game in future in some capacity, said Zaheer. Hence, Zaheer Khan was honored and felicitated by the Mumbai Cricket Association before presentation ceremony after the completion of 5th ODI in Wankhede stadium. A memento from the MCA was given in honor to Zaheer Khan by the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar in the presence of BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur and Maharashtra Cricket Association President Sharad Pawar among many others.
