Humans consider dogs as their best friends, but sometimes, dogs have dog best-friends, and the perfect example of that is the friendship of Taco and Merill.

Merrill, a pitbull, and Taco, a Chihuahua, are two best friends that lived together for years at the Rocket Dog Rescue Shelter.

The Rocket Dog Rescue Shelter is a  “Rocket Dog Rescue is a volunteer-based organization…dedicated to saving homeless and abandoned dogs from overcrowded animal shelters… [Their] ultimate goal is to create a world where all companion animals have loving and permanent homes and where no good-natured dogs, no matter what their age, are killed in shelters because they are considered to be surplus or un-adoptable.”

Back to Merrill and Taco, when the 2 met, they became friends really fast.

According to Rocket Dog Rescue Shelter, one day, Merrill became so sick that he had to undergo a surgery, and their bond was so strong that Taco had to stay with Merrill during surgery so he could comfort him.

It is reported that if Taco and Merrill got away with each other for some time, the two would start to cry.

Just like every other dog at an animal shelter, they are likely to get adopted.

One day, a man decided to adopt a dog and it really liked Merrill, and when he was about to take Merrill out of the shelter, Taco and Merrill did not let go of each other.

Impressed by the love of the dogs, the man that was going to adopt Merrill decided to adopt Taco so the two could spend the rest of their lives together.

The two dogs are now living together, said the Rocket Dog Rescue Shelter.
