Snake Eel Bursts Its Way Out Of Heron’s Throat As It Was Flying In The Air

A photographer captured a once in a lifetime moment when he saw an eel bursting its way out of the throat of a heron as it was flying away.

Well, my eyes, my eyes, my eyes!

Sam Davis, the photographer, said that he believes he had captured the best images he has ever taken in his life.

Davis, who works as an engineer, spotted the bird with an eel hanging out of its throat.

The eel just wanted some fresh air, it was tired of staying in the water.

The flying heron ate the snake-eel, which reportedly managed to poke a hole in the throat of the heron in a bid to escape.

David managed to capture the gruesome moment on cam and shared the images on social media, where they are viral right now.

Talking about the moment, Davis said:

I went to the refuge to photograph foxes and eagles and whatever else may be interesting. There were two young eagles that saw the herons predicament and were following him around, I assume they sensed a meal. Initially, I thought the heron was bitten on the neck by a snake or eel. When I got home and edited the photos I could see it was an eel that was coming through his neck. I could see his eyes and he was still alive.

It is still unclear if the heron survived after the images were taken by David.

The same thing goes for the eel.

But one thing is for sure, the eel did cause a painful wound in the stomach and the throat of the heron as it tried to attain freedom.

The best thing about this picture is that experts also said that they have never seen anything like this before.

Davis said that the Wildlife Refuge said that they have never seen anything like that before in their life.

David, who is also an amateur photographer, shares the images that he takes on Instagram.
