Drunk Florida Man Arrested For Strangling Pregnant Woman Because He Thought She Had Coronavirus

A 24-year-old Florida man was arrested by the police for strangling a pregnant woman after he thought she had contracted the novel coronavirus.

NBC News reported that the police arrested 24-year-old Joseph Newell, after witnessing him attack a 6-month-old pregnant woman.

The incident reportedly happened on Monday evening this week.

Newell, who was reportedly drunk at the time, rambled to the police about the novel coronavirus.

The victim, who is from Florida, told the officer that he attacked her because he thought she had contracted the deadly virus.

According to an arrest report, a police officer saw the man straddling the pregnant woman with his hands around her neck.

Despite the fact that the police instructed Newell to stop, the drunk Florida man continued to beat the woman.

Newell currently faces an aggravated battery charge, and is currently being held on a $15,000 bond.
