Hike Messenger Adds New Photo Filters and Doodles to Messaging Service

Hike messenger, the cross-platform instant messaging service for smartphones has recently introduced photo filters and doodles to its gallery. This new feature allows users to create personalised pictures by sketching and texting on images. Users can also add multiple effects to the images from their gallery by using the available photo filters.

Currently, it has added over 20 Indian photo filters that include ‘Sholay’, ‘Polaroid’, ‘Mashaal’,’Inked’ ‘Jalebi’, etc. Apart from these photo filters, it also launched some personality filters like retro, mellow, and vintage, which can be used among others.

How to use Photo Filters and Doodles on Hike

Hike Messenger has introduced new photo filters and doodles to the instant messaging service using which users can create their own personalised images. To use photo filters and doodles, users can simply follow the below steps:

  • Initially, go on the 3 dot menu.
  • Select a new photo from your photo gallery.
  • Add your favourite filter from more than 20 Indian photo filters.

You can also add a doodle to any of your desired images. To add a Doodle, you need to simply follow the steps given below:

  • Firstly, you need to tap on doodle icon.
  • Select any colour of their choice just by tapping on the colour palette which is displayed below.
  • That’s it! You can start creating illustrations of your choice.
  • Additionally, this feature also allows you to change the pen size as well.

Besides this new addition, the company will be running a marketing campaign and contests on social media in an endeavour to keep users using their service. Earlier, after noticing a success rate of 100 million English news stories per week, Hike launched a Hindi news feed in its app. The feed will allow users to access the chunks of news reports in areas that include sports, entertainment, politics, technology and other categories. The company announced in a statement that, users no more have to run after high-end cameras or smartphones to get a perfect studio picture or create their own display pictures in a perfect manner.

Hike was launched in December 2012 and as of September 2015, it had 35 million registered users. Some other rivals of Hike Messenger like WhatsApp and Viber have a user base of 900 million and over 40 million, respectively. Hike Messenger now offers free voice calling functionality for all its users both for individual and groups in addition to sending text messages Hike seems to compete for its rivalry with the launch of new features for its messaging platform.
