Elderly US Woman Saved by Indian-Origin Cab Driver From Being Scammed Out Of Rs 17 Lakh!
On account of a taxi driver’s quick reasoning, a 92-year-old California lady prevented herself from sending Rs 17 lakh to tricksters.
As per reports, the Indian-origin cab driver named, Raj Singh, detected something not right when the lady said she needed a ride to the bank and disclosed to him that she owed the IRS thousands of dollars.
The lady disclosed to him that somebody called her and requested the cash. Singh said the lady even gave him the telephone number of what she believed was an IRS worker.
Singh then tried to call the number shared by the old lady – a man who picked up the phone unexpectedly hung up when Singh squeezed him for more data and checked his name.
In a Facebook post shared by Roseville Police Station, Singh then begged the lady to go to the police, and she, in the long run, concurred.
‘We love this story on the grounds that multiple times all through, Raj could have quite recently taken his client to her stop and not stressed over problems she might have faced,’ police posted on Facebook. ‘He took significant time from his day and had the extraordinary thinking ahead to bring the nearly unfortunate victim to the police headquarters for an official reaction.’
Roseville police said Singh merited an ‘extraordinary resident honor’ in an announcement. ‘His fast reasoning spared a senior resident $25,000, and for that, we incredibly value his efforts’, police said.
The lady held up in the taxi while Singh went to converse with an official, who affirmed it was a trick, police said. Singh later took the lady home.
Now and then, such a story reminds us to be thoughtful and accommodating, regardless of how busy we are. No one can really tell when you may be forced to be at the other end of these tricksters.
