Watch: Baba Ramdev Shows The Power Of Yoga! Beats Olympic Medalist In Classic ‘Dangal’ Style

Baba Ramdev is known for his great dedication and work in the field of Yoga. But, he is also known for his crazy antics and he has been an internet sensation for his unbelievable sporting challenges.

We all remember how Baba Ramdev a few months back had donned soccer shoes and played a friendly match of football in Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Well, he is now set to take on the next sport and wrestle an international Olympic medalist for a friendly match.

Yes, Baba Ramdev has challenged 2008 Olympic silver medallist Andrey Stadnik for a friendly ‘Dangal’ bout in the second season of pro wrestling league.

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev displayed his wrestling skills as he went head-to-head with 2008 Olympic silver medalist Andriy Stadnik in a promotional bout of the Patanjali Powervita Pro Wrestling League (PWL) here on Wednesday.

Sporting his typical saffron langot, the 51-year-old Baba Ramdev defeated Olympic champion Andriy Stadnik with 12-0(12 points to zero) in a friendly wrestling match.

Waving to the crowd before entering the ring, Ramdev greeted his opponent with a namaskar and even ‘blessed’ him by touching his forehead. He then went on to warm up by performing a couple of asanas before starting the bout.

The yoga guru displayed swiftness and technique on the mat as he grappled with the 2008 Beijing Olympic Silver medallist. Ramdev did not allow the Ukrainian enough space to get an upper hand throughout their encounter.

There could only be one winner, though—the referee raised Ramdev’s hand after one round of wrestling where he took down Stadnik twice.

Addressing the crowd later, Ramdev chanted ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and urged people to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Praising the participants, he said wrestling would become one of the most popular sports in the world.

On the other hand, Andrey was also impressed by yoga guru’s energy and said that if he had taken it as a career, Baba Ramdev would have been one of the best wrestlers in India. Stadnik defeated Indian wrestler Sushil Kumar in the 2008 Olympics and only after he reached the final of the tournament.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Baba Ramdev has shown interest in friendly bouts. Last year, on the occasion of 20th anniversary of his Ashram in Haridwar, he had challenged Sushil Kumar.
