The 2026 Fifa World Cup will be the 23rd Fifa World Cup. It is a men’s football championship where teams of major countries will be battling each other to lift the golden trophy.

The tournament will be hosted by 3 countries and 16 cities. There are going to be 60 matches, which consist of the elimination round, quarterfinals, semi-finals, and the finals.

The final will be played in the United States of America.

The United 2026 bid beat a rival bid by Morocco during a final vote at the 68th Fifa Congress in Moscow.

Also, the 2026 World Cup will also see the tournament expand from 32 to 48 teams.

203 Fifa members were included during the vote, which was held in Moscow on the evening of the 2018 World Cup, which was hosted in Russia by Russia.

The tally was 134 cotes for United 2026. Morocco only got 65 votes.

Carlos Cordeiro, president of the U.S. soccer federation, said:

Thank you so, so very much for this incredible honor.  Thank you for entrusting us with this privilege.

This is the first time 3 countries joined to host the World Cup.
