Here Are The Educational Qualification Details Of Indian Cricketers

Cricket is very nearly a religion in India. There would be very few people in the country who haven’t yet watched a cricket match. We follow cricket religiously and this is a fact known by one and all. The one and most popular sport in India is nothing but Cricket.

Cricketers the most influential person of our popular game know the game pretty well to earn everyone’s appreciation, they know the numbers of runs they scored or the balls they bowled but were they as good in studies? Rather unintuitively some of them hold degrees in Engineering, some in Medicine, others in Commerce, even Astrophysics and Business Administration. Here is a list of Indian cricketers and their educational qualification.

Sachin Tendulkar:

The God of Cricket, who took to the game at the age of 11, completed class 12 from Shardashram Vidyamandir.

Virender Sehwag:

Popularly known for its smashing batsmanship, Sehwag holds a Bachelor degree from Jamia Millia Islamia University.

Saurav Ganguly:

The Dada of Indian cricket completed his graduation in commerce from the prestigious St. Xavier’s College. He was later awarded the honorary Ph.D.

Rahul Dravid:

The man who is known by the name of Mr. Dependable acquired a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from St. Joseph’s College of Business Administration.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni:

The former Indian skipper discontinued his Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.

Gautam Gambhir:

Gambhir completed his schooling in Modern School, Delhi and got his graduation degree from Hindu College, Delhi University.

V.V.S. Laxman:

The most educated cricketer among all, V.V.S. Laxman, dropped his MBBS degree and kicked off his career in Cricket.

Virat Kohli:

The new trendsetter of the Indian Cricket team, known for its big shots in the field cleared class 12 from New Delhi.

Yuvraj Singh:

The pillar of the Indian Cricket team, booked for the unbreakable record of 6 balls-6 sixes, passed class 12 from D.A.V. school.

Shikhar Dhawan:

The Gabbar of Indian Cricket team studied up to class 12.

Zaheer Khan:

The Khan was known as a bright student in school and consequently, he chose to pursue Engineering. But his sudden interest in Cricket led him to drop his studies.

Ravichandran Ashwin:

Ashwin started his schooling at Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan and shifted to St. Bede’s. He got his B.Tech from SSN College of engineering in IT.

Suresh Raina:

Suresh Raina successfully completed his high school studies before joining the national side.

Rohit Sharma:

Rohit Sharma completed his primary education at Our Lady of Velankani then enrolled in the Swami Vivekananda on a scholarship earned by playing good cricket.

Umesh Yadav:

Umesh Yadav completed his schooling in Shankar Rao Chouhan Vidyalaya, Khaperkheda.

AJinkya Rahane:

Rahane got his Secondary School Certificate from SV Joshi High School, Dombivli.

Last but not the least, present Indian Coach Anil Kumble.

Anil Kumble:

A right-arm leg spin bowler, born in the high-tech industry city of Bengaluru, did his Mechanical Engineering from R.V. College of Engineering.

Though we have made this list of their educational qualification, we believe they make the nation proud with the unusual talent they hold in the game of cricket.
