Canadian Couple Pose For Romantic Picture With A Lion That They Shot Dead
Darren and Carolyn Carter, a Canadian couple, went to South Africa for a hunting trip. But the couple ended up shocking animal rights activists.
The couple killed a lion and ended up posting a picture with it while they kissed together.
The picture of the couple was shared on Legelela Safaris, a Facebook Page.
The picture that was shared by the couple on Facebook had the caption of “Hard work in the hot Kalahari sun… well done. A monster lion”.
Darren and Carolyn won Solitude Taxidermy in Alberta, Canada.
It is still not clear if this was the same safari where the couple killed the lion at.
After the post went viral, Legelela Safaris deactivated their Facebook Page, which automatically removed all the posts they made, this includes the picture of the couple.
Daren and Carolyn Carter have also deactivated their company’s social media pages and their website.
The image went viral after the Daily Mirror shared the picture and wrote an article about it, the news agency called the couple as “sick” and said that the picture was “horrifying”.
PETA also released a statement on their website, they said, “The vast majority of people oppose trophy hunting. We must continue to make our voices heard and force businesses and lawmakers to listen.”
