40-year-old Devi Lal Meena was killed by a leopard while he was sleeping on the balcony of his house in the village of Bara-Bhangla Ghat in Udaipur.

Officials said that the 40-year-old man was dragged by the leopard away and was killed.

During the press release, the police said that the incident happened on Tuesday evening.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Meena was house alone when the attack happened and was sleeping on the balcony of their house on the evening of July 23, 2019.

The neighbors of Meena informed the police about the incident after they saw blood outside the house of Meena.

The dead body of Meena was found near the village.

The death of Meena caused outrage and led to protests.

Shortly after the incident, protests erupted on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad National Highway and protesters blocked the road.

Police officials and forest department officials spoke with the protesters and convinced them to stop the protests.

The body of Meena was sent for an autopsy after it was found.
