Shark Attack: 21-Year-Old Woman Torn Apart By 2 Sharks While Family Watched

21-year-old Jordan Lindsey from California was on a family trip when she was brutally killed by 2 sharks while she was snorkeling in the Bahamas.

For the first time since the incident, the family of Jordan has spoken about the tragic death of their young daughter.

During an interview with Good Morning America, Michael, the father of Jordan, said that her daughter was “surrounded” by sharks when he saw her snorkeling.

Kami, the wife of Michael, went with Michael to snorkel at a different area of the beach while the other family members stayed behind and played with pigs.

During the interview, Michael said, “Kami said she heard Jordan yell, ‘mom’, and then Kami looked back and her first thing was she thought dolphins were around Jordan.”

But soon after she heard Jordan screaming, Kami realized that her daughter was being attacked by sharks.

Kami yelled at Jordan and said, “come swim to me”.

After some time, Kami realized that the shark has already taken the most of the right arm of her daughter.

Michael said they were pretty far from other snorkelers when the incident happened.

Michael added that there were no staff members or tour guides near them when they were snorkeling.

The two parents rushed towards Jordan and Kami, the mum, punched the shark on its nose.

Michael explained the situation, he said, “They’re swimming slowly and Jordan said, ‘mom, there’s another shark coming,’ and then it just hit. The second shark hit again, like on her lower leg, and it just took a giant chunk out of her and that’s the last thing Jordan saw.”

Even after the brutal attack, the mother managed to pull Jordan out of the water and dragged her to some rocks.

The family waited near the rocks where they waited for an emergency boat to come and rescue them.

Kami and Michael said the boat that rescued them did not have any medical supplies.

When the rescue boat came onto the shore, the victim of the shark attack was still alive and was rushed to a hospital via an ambulance.

When Michael arrived at the hospital, he was told that her daughter has passed away.

Michael said the death of their daughter has made a huge impact on their family.

He said, “Kami doesn’t like the nights because once she closes her eyes, she’s back in that water again.”

Michael added that he cries every night while he thinks about the tragic death of his daughter.

Michael and Kami said changes are needed to be made so tour operators can “ensure” that tragedies like these could not happen again in the future.

The family says they want tour operators to ensure that there are staff or members of the tour company looking out at people who are snorkeling.

The family also wants tour operators to have emergency boats equipped with first aid kits and medical supplies.

Facebook Completes First Test Flight Of Its Giant Aquila Internet Drone

Internet access can offer life-changing opportunities and experiences to all of us, but there are still 4 billion people around the world missing out it with an estimated 1.6 billion of those living in remote areas with no access to mobile broadband networks.

After revealing that it wants to use unmanned drone airships to beam the internet down to the estimated four billion people worldwide without it two years ago, social media giant Facebook on Thursday announced the first full-scale test flight of its solar-powered craft, Aquila.

“After two years of engineering, I’m proud to announce the successful first flight of Aquila — the solar-powered plane we designed to beam the internet to remote parts of the world,” Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote in a post.

Zuckerberg added, “On June 28th, we completed the first successful flight of Aquila — our solar-powered plane that will beam the internet to remote parts of the world and eventually break the record for longest unmanned aircraft flight.”

According to the post, the flight took place before dawn in Yuma, Arizona. Facebook’s original mission was to fly Aquila for 30 minutes, but things went quite well for the company and it decided to keep the plane up for 96 minutes.

While in the air, the eco-friendly plane was consuming just 2,000 watts of power – around the same as a hairdryer. Eventually, the plane will consume around 5,000 Watts once it’s reaches it cruising height and speed.

We gathered lots of data about our models and the aircraft structure — and after two years of development, it was emotional to see Aquila actually get off the ground, Mr. Zuckerberg noted

He said that “Our goal is to have a fleet of Aquilas flying together at 60,000 feet, communicating with each other with lasers and staying aloft for months at a time — something that’s never been done before.”

The company is working on to make the aircraft more efficient and doing necessary changes in that direction.

“Over the next year, we’re going to keep testing Aquila — flying higher and longer, and adding more planes and payloads. It’s all part of our mission to connect the world and help more of the 4 billion people who are not online access all the opportunities of the internet,” Mr. Zuckerberg concluded.
