Herd Of Elephants Trample Man To Death In India, Villagers Forced To Spend Multiple Nights On Trees
Ramgarh, Jharkhand: A 65-year-old man was trampled to death by a herd of elephants in the early hours of August 18, 2020.
The news was announced by the district forest officials of Ramgarh, Jharkhand.
According to reports, the incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday in the Jayantibera village in Gola block.
The victim has been identified as Suleman Ansari, a 65-year-old resident of the village.
According to said Divisional Forest Officer Vijay Shankar Dubey Ansari was not the only victim.
A day before that, a 25-year-old man from the block died of his injuries at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi after being crushed by another herd of elephants.
On August 15, 2020, Ramesh Murmu was injured by wild jumbos.
Villagers that live near the area of the dense forest of Gola ended up spending nights on trees because of various movements of elephants. They did this to protect themselves and their families.
The current state of Murmu is currently unknown.
