Bill Gates Willing To Spend Billions Of Dollars To Find Coronavirus Vaccine
Bill Gates, a billionaire that was once the richest man on planet earth, is willing to spend billions of dollars just so scientists can find and speed up the hunt for a cure of the virus.
In a recent interview, Bill Gates said that he is willing to spend billions of dollars from his pocket just to speed up the hunt for a coronavirus vaccine.
The founder of Microsoft, one of the largest tech companies in the world, has already donated millions of dollars to help fight the deadly disease.
He is currently looking at funding everything from drugs for symptoms to research on a cure.
Not only that, but the billionaire is also willing to put on billions towards scientists and doctors so they could speed up the process of finding a cure.
During an interview with Trevor Noah on The Daily Show, the billionaire said, “The only thing that really lets us go back completely to normal and feel good about sitting in stadiums with lots of other people is to create a vaccine and not just take care of our country but take that vaccine out to the global population.”
The money that will be donated is going to be channeled through The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which is being handled by Melinda Gates, his wife.
Before most of the countries went into lockdown, Bill and Melinda Gates donated $10 million USD to help fight the virus.
Talking about their donations, Gates said the money will be able to accelerate the process of finding a cure.
Gates said, “Our early money can accelerate things. Even though we’ll end up picking at most two of them, we’re going to fund factories for all seven [labs looking into vaccines]”
Gates added, “[It’s] so that we don’t waste time in serially saying which vaccine works and then building the factory.”
Despite all the chaos in the world right now, Bill Gates is hopeful for what the future holds for us.
During an interview with Fox News, Gates said, “So this is super, super bad, but we will eventually get a vaccine. Even before then, if we do the right things we’ll be able to open up significant parts of the economy.”
Gates added, “I’m sure you know, once we get past this, we’ll look back, understand what we could have done differently, and make sure that we’re not letting it happen again, particularly because it could be even worse in terms of the fatality rate.”
Bill Gates is the hero we all need right now.
