Actor David Prowse, The Original Darth Vader, Dies Aged 85

David Prowse, the original actor that played the role of Darth Vader, has passed away at the age of 85 years old.

Vader was voiced by James Earl Jones, but Prowse was the one that played the physical role of the iconic villain in the Star Wars saga.

Prowse, who was 6 ft. 6 inches tall, starred in a number of movies in the Hollywood industry.

He also starred in movies like A Clockwork Orange, The Horror of Frankenstein, and Jabberwocky.

The news was confirmed by Thomas Bowington, the agent of Prowse.

The actor, who was just 85, passed away on November 29, 2020, after battling a short illness.

A statement was released by Bowington after the death of Prowse.

The statement reads:

May the force be with him, always! Though famous for playing many monsters – for myself, and all who knew Dave and worked with him, he was a hero in our lives.

The Bowington Management Twitter account also confirmed the news writing.

A tweet was made and it said:

It’s with great regret and heart-wrenching sadness for us and million of fans around the world, to announce that our client DAVE PROWSE M.B.E. has passed away at the age of 85.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of David, may his soul rest in peace.
