Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan And 8-Year-Old Daughter Taken To Hospital With Coronavirus

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a Bollywood star and former Miss World, has been brought to a hospital along with her 8-year-old daughter.

This comes 1 week after the family confirmed they have contracted the deadly disease.

On July 12, 2020, Abhishek, the husband of Aishwarya, released a statement on Twitter, where he confirmed that his wife and daughter have tested positive for the disease.

He said:

Aishwarya and Aaradhya have also tested COVID-19 positive. They will be self quarantining at home. The BMC has been updated of their situation and are doing the needful.The rest of the family including my Mother have tested negative. Thank you all for your wishes and prayers.

Abhishek Bachchan, her husband, and Amitabh Bachchan, her superstar father-in-law, are already in the same hospital with the coronavirus.

The family is amongst the highest-profile personalities that have been infected in India.

On July 11, 2020, Amitabh tweeted and confirmed that he had tested positive for the disease.

He said:

T 3590 -I have tested CoviD positive .. shifted to Hospital .. hospital informing authorities .. family and staff undergone tests , results awaited .. All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested !

Over 1 million cases of the coronavirus have been registered in India.

On Sunday this week, Aishwarya and Aaradhya, her daughter, confirmed that they have contracted the deadly disease.

The family was in self-quarantine at their house, but they were moved to the Nanavati hospital on Friday after becoming breathless.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan won the Miss World Crown in 1994 and has since become one of the most famous faces in Bollywood.

She got married to Abhishek Bachchan in 2007 after a controversial relationship with Salman Khan.
