Meizu, the Chinese smartphone manufacturing firm is planning to launch a new smartphone namely Meizu Pro 6. As of now, there are a less number of smartphones sporting a massive 6GB of RAM and now, Meizu Pro 6 will be entering the line of huge memory devices. While the popular ‘King of the ring’ when it comes to hardware specifications is certainly the Vivo XPlay 5 Elite with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, quite large seems to be coming our way indeed. According to the rumours coming from the Chinese website, MyDrivers claim that the Chinese smartphone makers are preparing a smartphone that packs in 6GB of RAM alongside a 3D-Touch pressure-sensitive display.
Recently, the Chinese smartphone maker Vivo had launched its flagship XPlay 5 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and so its competitor Meizu has hopped in with its flagship Pro 6 device sporting the same. Meizu Pro 6, the flagship smartphone is anticipated to come in two variants, one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage, and a pricier version featuring 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
Surprisingly, the report claimed that the smartphone will sport a display similar to that of the predecessor Meizu Pro 5. It will run Samsung’s Exynos 8890 processor, which powers the Galaxy S7. It is anticipated to run the latest version of Android operating system with Flyme UI. Once again, the processor is presumed to come from Samsung. Other excellent bits include Hi-Fi 3.0 sound and the mCharge (fast charge) 3.0 and it is powered by Meizu’s custom Flyme 6.0 software.
It has also mentioned that before the launch of the Meizu Pro 6, it will be announcing another smartphone. In all likelihood, this would be the Meizu MX6 similar to the MX5 that was announced before the MX5 Pro. Currently, the MX5 is the best that Meizu enthusiasts in India can get. However, Meizu is yet to announce the release date of the Pro 6 but it should come in the month of September this year, as its predecessor, the Pro 5, will finish a year cycle by this time.
The predecessor, Meizu Pro 5 features a 5.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 386 ppi. The device measures 156.7x78x7.5 mm in dimension and weighs 168g. The handset comes in two storage variants, one with a 32GB internal memory and a 3GB RAM, and the other with a 64GB internal storage and a 4GB RAM.
Under the hood, the Meizu Pro 5 is powered by an Exynos 7420 processor with a clock speed of 1.5GHz. The smartphone runs on an Android 5.1 Lollipop and a Mali-T760MP8 GPU. On the storage front, the smartphone comes with an expandable memory up to 128GB. On the camera front, the Pro 5 smartphone comes equipped with a 21MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP front snapper with f/2.0 aperture. The handset is fueled by a 3,050mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery.
