Brazil: Twins Are Born In Amniotic Sac In Extremely Rare Birth

Images that were shared with social media users in Brazil show twins born inside the amniotic sac.

This birth is considered an extremely rare event, where it is only observed during 1 in 80,000 births.

The mother of the baby gave birth to Brayan and Emanuel at an unnamed hospital in the city of Criciuma, which is located in the Southern Part of Brazil.

The birth was reported on November 5, 2020.

Twin births usually involve a C-section and most of the time, the amniotic sac is broken when this happens, however, this was not the case this time.

Keila Barbbon Henrique, the mother of the twins, not only gave birth in a natural way, but she also did it while Emanuel was still inside the amniotic sac.

The amniotic sac has water inside.

This type of birth is considered to be extremely rare, but it is not considered as dangerous or life-threatening.

Keila, the mother, and Gilma Concatto da Silva, the couple, live in the municipality of Forquilhinha.

Brayan was born weighing around 2.546 kilograms and was around 17.3 inches long, and Emanuel, who is younger by 9 minutes, weighed at around 2.346 kilograms and was around 17.5 inches long.

Emanuel was removed from the sac by a professional medical team.

The mother and her babies are currently doing well.

They are expected to be discharged soon, said reports.
