On Tuesday, a three-year-old boy is playing the toy scooter at Biz Bazaar, Kacheguda and hit strong to the escalator and was got injured. Immediately the Big Bazaar management and police have responded and took the child to the hospital.
A couple with two kids has gone for shopping at Big Bazaar where the elder son accompanied his parents and the younger one Abhiram stayed at toys zone where he found a toy scooter to play. The parents left him to play there and proceed to electronic stall.
The child playing with the scooter hit the escalator and slid off it and crashed into the beauty products stall on the first floor.
“We went to the spot and saw the video footage recorded by the close circuit cameras. It is clearly shows that the parents were negligent. The child was left alone on the floor to play while the parents were shopping,” said Sultan Bazaar police inspector P. Shiva Shankar Rao.
The parents has approached the Sultan Bazaar police station and filed a complaint but police after seeing the CCTV footage says that the parents were negligent towards the child.
“The parents took a toy scooter from the children’s section and told the child to sit on it. After taking a few snaps, they walked away into the electronics goods section as the boy refused to accompany them. When our salesman asked the boy to get down, he tried to move away and in the process slid down the escalator,” said E. Durga Prasad, the Big Bazar security operations manager.
NGO Balala Hakkula Sangham has blamed the management of the mall for the incident and questioned, “How can the management keep toys near the escalator, knowing well that children will play in the designated area?”
