School Fee Regulatory Panel Report by Dec-end: Education minister Kadiyam Srihari

The Tirupathi Rao Committee report on school fee regulation, which has been pending for quite a while might be out soon. Telangana Education Minister, Kadiyam Srihari, on Wednesday, interacted with the parents at his office and assured them that the report will be submitted by the end of December. Apart from assuring the submission of the report, he also said that the government will immediately act on the suggestions made in the report.

Around 20 parents – all members of the Hyderabad School Parents Association(HSPA) met the Minister at his office in the secretariat questioning him the reasons for the delay and according to the reports, they were satisfied with the assurances given by the Minister.

“We are happy with the assurances given to us by the minister – both on the submission of the report by month-end and, more importantly, on the assurance that the parents can expect some good news with regard to school fee regulation by Sankranti. However, given the past record of the government, in terms of not being able to keep its word, we can only be cautiously optimistic about it,” said Aravinda Jata, president, HSPA.

The parents even provided proofs of several schools defying the government order on admissions, to the minister, to look into them and to take a criminal action against all such schools.

“We also suggested that the schools can perhaps be given a go-ahead for the admission procession provided they do not impose any fee hike for this academic year,” said Ashish Naredi, executive member, HSPA.
