Hapur, India: A 6-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped in the Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday by a group of men, who are currently on the run.

The girl is currently in a critical condition at a hospital.

The police said that they have been looking for the attackers for 4 straight days now.

The police have released sketches of the men after interviewing the parents and neighbors of the 6-year-old girl.

The 6-year-old girl was reportedly kidnapped outside her house in the Garh Mukhteshwar area in the district.

She was kidnapped by a man on a motorcycle.

The parents of the girl registered a missing complaint to the police after she went missing.

A day after the official filing of the missing complaint, the girl was found unconscious and soaked in blood, behind bushes not far from her village.

A medical examination confirmed that she was raped.

The girl was rushed to a specialized hospital in Meerut and went through a surgery.

Doctors say she is stable but not out of danger.

SK Garg, the principal of the Meerut Medical College and Hospital, said:

She will need treatment for a long duration, we may need to perform more surgeries.

The police could not ask the girl about the identity of the man because of her condition.

Sanjeev Suman, Hapur police chief, said:

We hope to make arrests very soon, more than six police teams are on the job.

A hunt is currently on to nab the accused men.
