60-Year-Old Indian Man Lives In A Boat To Stay Away From Villagers During Lockdown
Last month, Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, announced that the entire country, which has over 1.3 billion residents, will be going into lockdown so the virus could stop from spreading further.
Since the lockdown came into effect, a lot of people have come up with amazing and hilarious ideas to stay away from people.
However, you might have missed one news.
Niranjan Halder, a 60-year-old man, took the lockdown on extreme measures.
Halder was asked the doctors to go into self-isolation for 14 days.
As a result, the man ended up living in a boat.
The incident happened at Nabadwip of Nadia district in the Dobapara area under Habibpur block in the Malda district.
Talking about the incident, Halder said, “I was suffering from fever after the outbreak of COVID-19. The villagers did not allow me to enter their village and then I took shelter in the boat following the advice of local doctors for a 14 days quarantine.”
Halder, the 60-year-old man, visited his relative’s house before the pandemic, and after the lockdown, he started to gain symptoms of the virus.
The doctors advised him to practice self-isolation for 14 days, and upon hearing about the news, the villagers did not allow him to enter the village.
Halder ended up taking shelter on the boat.
The good thing is that the residents of the village are supporting him throughout his self-isolation period.
Tapan Biswas, a local resident, said, “After the outbreak of COVID-19, we made a separate shelter for him. We are providing food and other things to him.”
In India, there are 3082 confirmed cases of the coronavirus.
86 deaths have been confirmed from the virus.
