Caught On CCTV: 2 Men Snatch Purse From Old Woman In New Delhi, Police Did Not File Complaint For Two Days
Last Week, an old woman in New Delhi was robbed by two men who stole her purse. The entire incident was caught on a CCTV that was installed beside their home in Laxmi Nagar, New Delhi, but the police did not register the complaint that was filed by the woman.
Maya Devi, the old woman whose purse was stolen, was outside her house in Laxmi Nagar when the robbery happened.
She was outside her house when two men who were riding a scooter decided to steal her purse.
When Devi was trying to unlock the gate of their house, one of the men got off the scooter and snatched her bag away.
Maya Devi was seen falling hard on the ground in the CCTV footage that was released by the police.
After the robbery, the woman called the police and registered a complaint.
During an interview with ANI, the woman said, “The Investigation Officer and the beat staff did not bother to collect the CCTV footage. They did not even register an FIR and did so only after repeated requests and that too for theft.”
The two men who robbed the woman are still on the run.
Jasmeet Singh, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Delhi, has ordered an inquiry against the police officers who failed to register the complaint of Maya Devi.
