Grade 6 Indian Student Beaten To Death By 3 Classmates Because He Refused To Buy Them Guavas

3 15-year-old students of a government-owned school in Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh, beat their grade 6 classmate to death because he failed to buy them guava.

According to NDTV, the incident happened in the Amirnagar village on January 27, 2020.

Authorities have identified the deceased as Farmaan Qureshi, a grade 6 student at the government school in Amirnagar.

According to the police the boy had a quarrel with his 3 classmates because he didn’t want to buy guavas for them.

The police said the 3 boys, who are all 15 years old, asked him to buy them guavas, but he didn’t, leading them to attack the boy.

On January 27, the day of the incident, Farmaan went to the school with Tauheed, his cousin, and upon entering the school the 3 boys thrashed him brutally.

All the 3 boys were caught by the school staff and were handed over to the police.

The police have registered a case against the 3 boys under the Indian Penal Code 302, which is for murder.

Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Budhpriya Singh released a statement about the incident.

Singh said, “The police have taken necessary steps in this case while we have ordered a probe to ascertain whether any negligence was shown on the part of any school teacher.”

Saimur Qureshi, the father of the deceased boy, talked about the incident.

Saimur said, “My nephew Tauheed, who studies in the same school, told me that Qureshi was thrashed by the three school children in the presence of a school teacher. The accused sat on his chest and repeatedly thrashed him to death.”

SSP Poonam and District Magistrate Shailendra Singh went to the village and spoke with the family of the deceased.

The main accused told the police that he didn’t intend to kill Farmaan and said he only punched his classmate in the stomach.

SHO (Station House Officer) Sanjay Tyagi, said that an FIR has been registered against the 3 children.

Preliminary investigations suggest that only one of the 3 accused beat Farmaan to death.

SHO Tyagi said, “We have recorded the statement of the school children, who witnessed the fight between the boys and it seems like it was an accidental death. We are waiting for the autopsy report to ascertain the main cause of death. The accused will be sent to a juvenile home.”

The dead body of the Grade 6 student was sent for an autopsy.
