Groom And 6 People Arrested While Trying To Sneak Out Of City To Get Married
Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh: Authorities implementing the coronavirus lockdown measures in Ghaziabad said that they have arrested a groom and 6 of his relatives for breaking the coronavirus measures so he could get married.
The Ghaziabad police said that they arrested the family while they were on their way to solemnize the marriage in the early hours on Monday.
SSP Kalanidhi Naithani of the Ghaziabad Police said they were arrested around 1.30 am.
During interrogation, the family admitted that they were going to Meerut to get married.
SSP Naithani said:
“They were proceeding stealthily towards Meerut in the night hours to escape police checking.”
The family did not have any pass that allowed them to travel in huge numbers.
The 7 arrested have been identified as:
- Tajuddin
- Vakeel
- Kamruiddin
- Mahboob
- Faiyyaz
- Ikramuddin
- Salman
The police have booked the seven men under IPC section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life).
