Mantoli, India: A father that was furious over the fact that her daughter was pregnant and was carrying her rapist’s baby strangled her as a punishment for being raped.

It is said that the girl was killed to preserve the family honor because she was carrying the baby of her rapist.

The grandparents of the girl discovered that she was pregnant after taking her to a hospital earlier this month.

Local news agencies claim that the father of the boy turned up at the house in a fit of rage.

However, he was not allowed to meet his daughter.

He later returned to the house at around 5 am and strangled his daughter in her bed.

Suneeta, a local police officer, said that the girl died as a result of the attack.

During an interview with Times of India, she said:

We had been informed by the hospital on Tuesday that a teenage girl was pregnant. However, when we enquired the next day, we found out the girl was already dead and buried.

The corpse was then exhumed before cops took a DNA sample.

The grandparents of the girl have been interviewed.

Officer Suneeta added:

We have taken the DNA sample of the foetus, and are investigating who raped the girl. The investigation is on and the culprits will be caught soon.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased, may her soul rest in peace.
