India: Doctors Treat Injured Monkey That Showed Up At Their Hospital

A video that was shared on social media recently is winning the hearts of internet users after it highlights the story of an injured monkey that showed up on the steps of a hospital in Karnataka, India, seeking for medical care.

The best part about this story is that the monkey did get help and we get to see a video of it.

According to NDTV, the monkey showed up at the Patil Hospital in Dandeli where kind-hearted doctors and medical professionals took care of him.

The video was shared on “Let’s Go Dandeli”, a page on Facebook, and it shows the injured monkey sitting calmly outside the hospital as other patients watch him curiously.

A person could be seen stroking the back of the monkey, checking for injuries, and another man could be heard saying:

Ye Dr Patil ke hospital mein aaya hai treatment karaane (He has come to Dr Patil’s hospital for treatment).

The video goes on to show 2 people checking the monkey and applying for medicine as he sits on a washbasin, only turning back once as if to show where he was hurt.

The viral video was later shared by Sandeep Tripathi, an Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officer, on Twitter with the caption of:

Amazing… an injured monkey turns up at Patil Hospital, Dandeli for medical care! Praiseworthy compassion by staff.

The heartwarming video has been viewed over 3,000 times on Twitter.

On Facebook, the longer version of the video has over 10,000 views.

The amazing incident happened in Dandeli, Karnataka, where thick jungle and wildlife is abundant.

The area is home to monkeys, panthers, and elephants.

Thanks to the staff of the hospital, the poor little fella got treatment. Such a class act!
