Indian Dancer Shot In The Face For Pausing Dance During Wedding Party
A 22-year-old Indian dancer was rushed to a hospital after she was shot in the face because she stopped dancing during a wedding party.
In a short video of the incident, Hina, the 22-year-old dancer, was seen dancing on stage moments before she got shot.
After pausing, a gunshot could be heard and the woman falls down right away while holding her face.
The incident reportedly happened in a village in Uttar Pradesh, a state in India.
The police have identified the person who shot the dancer.
The Uttar Pradesh Police said the shooter is currently on the run.
The maternal uncles of the groom, who were dancing on the stage, were also injured in the incident.
Reports suggest that a relative of the village head aimed a gun on the dancer and shot her after she stopped dancing.
The incident allegedly happened on December 1, 2019, but it only got reported to the police a day after the incident.
Naina, a dancer that was dancing with Hina when the incident happened, said, “When we were dancing, the music suddenly stopped. The man then fired at us. She was standing next to me, got shot in the jaw.”
The Uttar Pradesh police released a statement about the suspect and said, “The suspect is on the run but we are confident that we will arrest him soon.”
22-year-old Hina is now recovering from her injuries at a hospital in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
