A police constable and a van driver were arrested for raping a woman and extorting money from her boyfriend in Vadodara, India.

According to reports, the constable was on duty in a police control room (PCR) van when the incident happened.

The driver of the PCR van was also involved in the crime.

According to NDTV, a news agency in India, the incident happened in Gotri Canal Road on the evening of Saturday (March 14, 2020).

According to the Lakshmipura Police Station, the constable raped the woman after he sent her boyfriend with the driver of the van to get the bribe money.

Deepak Meghani, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, said, said, “Constable Suraj Singh Chauhan and driver Rasik Chauhan have been arrested.”

He added, “On Saturday, at around 8:30 pm, a PCR van patrolling on Gotri canal road stopped near a young couple sitting on a motorcycle. The accused threatened them and asked for a bribe.”

Because the boyfriend of the woman did not have enough cash with him, the driver of the PCR van accompanied him to a nearby petrol pump, where Rs. 5,000 was paid through Paytm.

The owner of the gasoline station gave the man cash, which was later given to the constable and the driver.

As the boyfriend was paying the driver, the police constable forced the woman to perform oral sex on him.

The girl reportedly narrated the entire ordeal to her family members, who then lodged a police complaint.

The police confirmed the incident and said that a case against the 2 has been filed under relevant sections of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) and under the sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
