Yes, you read that right, a stray dog.

According to reports, the incident happened on a footbridge at Wagle Estate at around 4:30 pm on July 21, 2020.
The police said that the accused man lives in Wagle Estate’s Road number 16.
The incident came to light after a group of boys in the neighborhood were feeding stray dogs. They saw the man sexually abusing the female dog.
The group informed Aditi Nair, an animal rights activist that lives in the area.

In a tweet that they made, they said:
Rani’s case is that of an animal rape. In a country where human rape is not taken seriously, what are the chances of justice in an animal rape case? Almost 0.
After this, Nair approached Thane Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar, who got furious about the incident.
He (Phansalkar) strictly told the concerned police to immediately act and make an ‘airtight’ case.
A day after the incident, the police registered an offence under the Indian Penal Code Section 377 (unnatural sex) and Section 11(a) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
The 40-year-old accused has been arrested by the police.
An official investigation has been launched for the incident.
The police did not reveal the identity of the man or if he was granted bail for the crime that he committed.
