Uttar Pradesh Man Dies After Wife Set Him On Fire During A Petty Argument

Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh: A man that was set on fire by his second wife has died after sustaining life-threatening burn injuries.

According to the police, the man was set on fire by his wife last week during a petty argument.

The incident happened in the town of Muradnagar, which is located in Ghaziabad District of Uttar Pradesh.

Moolchand Tyagi, the victim, had an argument over a petty issue with Geeta, his second wife. After the argument cooled down, the wife poured fuel on him and set him on fire.

Moolchand was rushed to the Safdarjung hospital in Delhi for treatment after sustaining severe burn injuries, but sadly, he passed away.

Amit Kumar, the police station in-charge of Muradnagar, said that Moolchand died on the evening of Sunday (August 16, 2020).

Gaurav Tyagi, the son of Moolchand, lodged a report against his stepmother after the incident happened.

The authorities have arrested Geeta.

After Moolchand passed away, authorities converted the attempted murder case into murder, confirmed the authorities.
