When Justice Failed In India, This Father Killed The Man That Murdered And Raped His 13-Year-Old Daughter

When justice fails, people tend to bring the law into their own hands, and sometimes many people think it is the right thing to do.

The same thought came to a father in February 2001 when his 13-year-old daughter was murdered and raped.

Sankara Narayanan’s 13-year-old daughter was raped and murdered by their 24-year-old neighbor Ahammed Koya

Ahammed Koya was convicted and sentenced, but that was still no justice for the father, who was still grieving over the death of his daughter.

But things got out of hand when Koya was granted bail just 1 year after being convicted.

Sankara Narayanan was very mad about the news, so he tracked down Koya and was murdered brutally.

After the death of Koya, Sankara Narayanan surrendered to the police and confessed the crimes that he had committed.

The autopsy report of Koya suggests that he died as a result of the gunshot injuries that he got on the chest and abdomen.

Sankara Narayanan was sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment by a sessions court.

The conviction was later set aside by the High Court of Kerala in 2006.

Talking about the case, the High Court of Kerala said:

It is no doubt fully established that a teen-aged school going daughter of A1 [Sankaranarayanan] was raped and murdered. It is further fully established that for this heinous crime the deceased-Ahammed Koya was facing trial and was on bail when he was done to death. There were friendly relationship between A1 and the deceased and they were on visiting terms with each other. This fact would add fuel to the fire and A1 would be emotionally highly charged to avenge for the rape and murder of his daughter at the hands of a friend.

Up until this date, the story of Sankara Narayanan is heavily known in the state of Kerala as he stood up and took the law into his own hands when the justice system had “failed” him.
