One of the worst things in the world is when humans abandon their pet animals and throw them at a shelter, and it gets worse when no one wants to take in the animal and love them as we should.

Lola, a former stray dog who is also a mother of 6 pups, ended up along with her puppies in a shelter.

The poor dog had to spend over 400 days at the Wickenburg Humane Society Shelter in Arizona before she got adopted.

According to reports, the dog got adopted by kind humans and is now living with them in their forever house in Mesa, Arizona.

Lola, the dog, was originally brought to the shelter in September of 2019 when she was a stray dog.

The pooch raised her 6 puppies at the Wickenburg Humane Society Shelter and watched each one of them getting adopted.

However, no one wanted to adopt her.

It does take some time for dogs to get adopted, and in dog years, those years are 7 times longer, so this means that it feels like a very, very, very long time for them.

And according to experts, it usually takes a couple of months for a dog to get adopted, but for Lola, it was for over 1 year.

Kelsey Dickerson of the Humane Society talked with BoredPanda about the story of Lola and said:

Adorable Lola was originally brought to the Humane Society of Wickenburg as a stray with underage puppies. After 400+ days and more than half her life spent at HSW, Lola was transferred to the Arizona Humane Society through the Project Reachout Program in hopes that a change of scenery would help her finally find her forever home.

After spending 400 days there, she made her way to Phoenix, Arizona, with full hopes of getting adopted by a good person.

The best thing about this story is the Project Reachout Program of the Arizona Humane Society.

Thanks to the initiative, Lola was transferred to another shelter, where she was adopted in just 24 hours.

Sometimes, timing is what matters the most!

Talking about Lola, Kelsey said:

Lola is a sweet, loving, happy pup who adores every single person she meets instantly. Young, energetic, and playful, this sweet girl loves to romp around with other pups who are just as spirited as she is and enjoys cuddling with her favorite humans any chance she gets! Although she is very playful, Lola is great with kids and is as smart as she is cute!

Dogs are precious, and it’s sometimes sad that a lot of dogs end up being neglected because of their sad past.
