Hero Dog Owner Dives Into Deadly Torrent To Save Pet Pooch After It Got Swept Away

A hero dog owner in Panama dived into a deadly torrent to save its pet pooch after it fell in and got swept away.

The incident happened in San Miguelito, Panama, where heavy rainstorms caused the river in Sinai to burst its banks.

The video of the incident shows 35-year-old Manuel Calderon plunging into the fast-flowing waters to chase and save his pet pooch.

The dog of Manuel could be seen waiting on the other side of the waters.

According to reports, Manuel crossed the river and thought Fulo, his pet pooch, would follow him.

Manuel, who sells vegetables for a living, crossed the river thinking the dog would cross it just like he would. But it didn’t, because the flow of the water was so powerful for Fulo.

Upon realizing that his pet dog can’t cross the river, Manuel jumped into the deep waters to save his pet dog.

Manuel and his pet dog managed to come to a stop at a bank and went out of the waters with his pet pooch.

During an interview with the local press, Manuel explained why he risked his life for his pet dog.

He said, “I was focused on the dog. And thank God I managed to grab him… I threw him onto the bank and got out some meters later.”

He added, “An animal, just for being an animal, does not deserve to be disregarded, because it is a life after all. I ask you to take care of them because they also have feelings.”

A single mistake in the incident could have ended catastrophic, but luckily everything went well.

According to reports, Manuel was abandoned by his parents when he was small and he grew up by himself.

Hector Valdes, the Mayor of San Miguelito, announced that Manuel was offered a job in the Department of Animal Welfare after the news broke out.

Manuel accepted the job offer and is on his way to save more animals.
