Irish Fisherman Catches 8.5ft 600lbs Bluefin Tuna Fish Worth €3 Million And Allowed It To Swim Away

3 fishermen from Ireland managed to reel in a massive 600lbs Bluefin tuna fish off the coast of Ireland.

Dave Edwards, one of the fishermen, caught the rare tuna and took pictures of it as it was being reeled in into the side of their fishing boat.

The catch is considered to be worth around 2.5 million pounds.

Dave made the catch near Courtmascherry, which is one hour away from Cork.

Edwards along with Henk Veldman and Darren O’Sullivan, 2 anglers, managed to reel in the first-ever Bluefin Tuna found off the south coast of Ireland.

At last! The first Bluefin tuna to be caught, tagged and released on The South Coast of Ireland, 102 inches in length 😁

The fish was around 8.5 feet long and was 600lbs heavy.

The 3 anglers tagged the Bluefin tuna and had to release it back into the sea as part of their conservation project.

Because the tuna was really massive, the 3 fishermen had to tag it and release it back into the water while it was being reeled.

The 3 anglers were on board the Silver Dawn Boat, which is operated by the West Cork Charters.

The West Cork Charters is involved in a program that tags Bluefin Tunas.

In the program, anglers will catch a Bluefin Tuna and will tag the fish so they could record more data about the species and know how they live.

That’s one big catch lads! Hats off for releasing the rare fish back into the sea!
